Old Porter County Jail Investigation

WIILPA will be conducting an investigation of the Old Porter County Jail-Historical Society of Porter County Museum located in Valparaiso, IN on Saturday, March 20th @ 10pm.

The old Porter County Jail was built in 1871 and served as a jail and sheriff's residence from 1871 to 1974.

The Historical Society’s collection moved to the Old County Jail and Sheriff’s Residence on
September 17th, 1974. The Old Jail Museum officially opened its doors to the public on May 11th, 1975 - 53 years after the collection was first publicly displayed. Quickly thereafter, the museum was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 23rd, 1976 and continues to be an integral part of Porter County and the surrounding community.

The jail has had alleged paranormal activity for several decades - including apparitions, doors opening and closing, and strange noises.

WIILPA is undergoing some "structural" changes internally. As we add 2 additional investigator positions,
roles within the group will become more defined.

WIILPA is about to change the way paranormal investigation is conducted!

We have secured an investigation at FireWalk Music in West Allis, WI on 02/19/10. Anything we find will be posted to our website in early March. We will introduce our K-9 unit at this investigation!

That's right! WIILPA now offers K-9 unit assistance on investigations. A K-9 investigator is optional, and the option will be presented to potential clients during the initial phone interview. As of January 1st, WIILPA has added "Riley" as our Chief K-9 Investigator!
